We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Technology Risk Manager 1st Line of Defense to join our European Bank (EB) Technology Governance team. This role is located in Wroclaw, Poland –HYBRID.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Monitor and challenge the technology risks and controls that align with the BNY EB's business objectives and risk appetite. Analyze, develop and maintain evidence of monitoring the Technology landscape (i.e. Projects, Changes, Incidents, Vulnerabilities etc) in line with expectations from Internal BNY policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure that technology risk management processes comply with relevant EU regulatory requirements (e.g., EBA, DORA, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOX) and industry best practices.
  • Prepare the reports regularly to provide updates to the EB Risk Management Committee, EB ExCo, Technology Outsourcing Oversight Forum and EB Board of Directors, on the status of technology risks, controls, and compliance efforts. Provide oversight into the implementation of technology risk management frameworks and control environments. 
  • Serve as a key advisor to the EB CIO, providing insights into emerging technology risks, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Actively participate in technology risk and governance forums, ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise risk management framework.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Ability to review and challenge the identification, assessment, and prioritization of technology risks across the enterprise, including IT infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with business, IT, cybersecurity, risk and compliance teams to embed risk management and controls into the organization's culture and operations. 
  • 5+ years of experience in technology risk management, cybersecurity, IT governance, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of technology risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Preferred experience on risks associated with AI, Cloud and EU technology related regulations. 
  • Communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work with reporting and analytical tools (AI, Excel, Bus Objects, Power BI.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified information Security Management (CISM) Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or similar.
