The role has responsibility for the upkeep, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Anaplan platform. This role involves ensuring the system's reliability, performance, and security while supporting various business functions within finance & operations. Additionally, the specialist may design, build, and maintain Anaplan models to support business processes, with a particular focus on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

The role will ideally suit a candidate who has a hands-on approach and the ability to apply their knowledge and experience to derive robust system solutions, together with a strong financial process and control mindset.

The ideal candidate should have an inquisitive systems mindset, with the purpose to support an international finance function, and require excellent communication skills, good attention to detail, broad accounting knowledge and an enthusiastic helpful attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Oversee the daily operations of the Anaplan platform, including user management, data & other systems integration, and system configuration, including the metadata dimensions.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance tasks, apply system updates, and ensure the platform is running on the latest version.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely data integration from various sources, maintaining data integrity and consistency.  Understanding of & ensuring alignment of the end-to-end integration paths for metadata and data moving through Finance Systems.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and offer training to enhance user proficiency.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Anaplan solutions.  Build and maintain relationships with 3rd party support providers and escalation of relevant issues.
  • Model Building: Design, build, and maintain Anaplan models to support business processes, including creating data inputs and outputs, designing calculations, and mapping out business processes
  • Model Enhancement: Continuously improve and enhance existing models to meet evolving business needs
  • Testing and Validation: Ensure full System Integration Testing / User Acceptance Testing is conducted on all changes to ensure that data is moving between applications in a controlled manner and in line with the overall group IT change control policies.
  • FP&A Focus: Develop and maintain models specifically for Financial Planning & Analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Financial Analysis: Collaborate with the finance team to understand their needs and provide insights through Anaplan models

What you’ll need for this role

  • Education (Essential): University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Education (Desirable): Accounting qualification or part qualified with experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in Anaplan system administration/model building.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in data integration and ETL processes, excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Certifications: Anaplan Certified Model Builder or higher certification preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality & ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently showing initiative in identifying problems and posing solutions.
  • Ability to understand business users requirements and apply these to define systems solutions.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how they relate to Anaplan functionalities.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, with a solid understanding of financial principles and practices and ability to apply these to define systems solutions.

Systems Skills:

  • Min 2 yrs experience of Anaplan management
  • Microsoft Excel skills (Intermediate / Advanced level).
  • HFM or other financial consolidation systems (desirable but not essential)
