What this position is about - Purpose:
This role is critical as its mission is to ensure that the Business Models (BM) decided by JTI SA Finance Team (HQ Geneva) are adequately implemented and executed. In that regards, the incumbent should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to serve as the key facilitator between various teams spread accross the Globe including JTI SA Business Model team, Global Tax and Group Treasury based in Geneva and Markets/Factories.
As main responsibilities, the incumbent will:
- make sure that the Transfer Price (TP) for the Intercompany (I/Co) transactions between JTI SA and other JTI Entities/Third-Party distributors are timely and correctly reflected in SAP. This part is essential to maintain tax efficient schemes for the JTI Group, avoid any future challenges and fines from tax authorities on I/Co transactions but also guarantee correct invoicing to Third-Party distributors and as such, secure JTI Group OCC
- be accountable to maintain the BMR tool updated (Business Model Reference). The tool contains Power BI information (eg., brands sold by markets, brands sourced by factories) and lays-out the different invocing flows and BM by markets. It is used as source of business information by +300 users within the Company and as such the reliability of its content is crucial
- perform profitability analysis for JTI SA entity by markets and by line of products sold (leaf, NTM, SFG or FG). Accuracy and timeliness of these analysis are paramount as subsequently shared with Tax Authorities
- contribute actively to support the JTI Finance team in the launch of RRP products and in different Business Continuity Plan initiatives
This role demands strong analytical and communication skills to navigate complex business structures and drive implementation of solutions aligned with JTI SA Finance team
As the entity JTI SA is at the heart of the JTI group operations, the incumbent will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive view of JTI’s global business operations, overseeing the TP chain from leaf origins to Factories and finally Markets Also, in addition to tax knowledge development (TP), this role provides visibility to Finance/Tax and Treasury Directors in Geneva and in Markets/Factories and is a genuine step for future roles within finance with increased visibility
What will you do - Responsibilities:
Leading TP Methodology Implementation:
- Validate the annual Transfer Pricing methodology file with the HQ BM team and coordinate the sign-off process with Global Tax
- Provide clear TP method instructions to markets, factories, the leaf team, and the IC team
- Lead and review the LRD market TNMM file to ensure the accurate calculation of TP for the following year's TP in the system
- Review and update the matrix for Price Control Variance BOT
- Serve as the key expert in addressing TP methodology-related inquiries
Financial Analysis and Modeling Simulations:
- Conduct a comprehensive Full Markup Profitability Analysis for tax audits, analyzing the full P&L based on the BM concept. Identify root causes for any deviations and effectively explain the results of the markup analysis
- Develop modeling simulations for TP calculations and adjustments to ensure alignment with the BM concept and mitigate tax risks
- Handle ad hoc requests to verify TPs in the flow, ensuring the correct processes and controls are in place across various functions
Business Model Knowledge Base:
- Regularly update the Business Model development in SharePoint (BMR: Business Model Reference) to ensure the latest knowledge and information are captured. BMR is a widely used and critical tool that supports management in decision-making
- Develop and maintain a Power BI platform to provide real-time, structured data to the management team. Power BI consolidates all BM-related data for factories and markets globally
- Organize and retain key files and relevant documents for future reference and as potential tax audit evidence
Review and Approvals:
- Review and approve price letters for SA direct sales markets
- Review and approve price setups in the system
- Review and verify ad hoc royalty-related inquiries
Who are we looking for - Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- Previous experience with JTI and FP&A are desirable
- Proficiency in English is required
- Strong working knowledge of systems such as SAP, BWP, Excel, and Power BI.
- Understanding of product costing, P2P, and O2C processes will be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of tax and regulations, including CIT, Transfer Pricing, PE, Entity Structures, and Indirect Tax
- Excellent communication skills, a strong personality, and a collaborative mindset—acting as both a team player and a business partner to operations
