Responsibilities:
- Classify products accurately according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to ensure smooth international trade operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to international trade regulations and customs laws, keeping our operations seamless and compliant.
- Work closely with various teams to gather technical data for precise product classification.
- Maintain comprehensive classification documentation for audits and inquiries, ensuring everything is in order.
- Oversee HTS data within SAP GTS, keeping our systems up-to-date and accurate.
- Assist in HTS classification audits and prepare detailed reports to support our compliance efforts.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with incorrect classification, safeguarding our operations.
- Provide training on HTS classification and global trade compliance to keep our team informed and compliant.
- Tackle customs data-related issues with the CETC team and other departments, ensuring smooth resolutions.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a customs specialist in a medium to large-sized company with a focus on classification.
- Strong knowledge of customs legislation, with a particular focus on HTS classification.
- Extensive digital and data literacy.
- Proven experience in trade compliance and internal auditing.
- Comfortable with broader customs-relevant data.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Experience with SAP GTS is a plus.
- Willingness to work 3 days by week in the office.
