What is Financial Planning & Analysis Team responsible for?

The responsibilities of the team include the management and supervision of the company's extensive budgetary efforts, in addition to normal management reporting, financial analysis and ad-hoc tasks.

As an intern, you will play a key role in our annual budget process. Your responsibilities will include assisting, producing, and supporting the team during meetings with senior management to discuss expenses, consolidating departmental budgets, uploading, and troubleshooting Adaptive budgeting system.

Additionally, you will collaborate with permanent staff in their day-to-day FP&A work, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks and incoming requests. These tasks may involve revenue and expenses variance analysis, production of management reports for our Operating Committee and various Board of Directors, documentation of existing processes, and Headcount reporting.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Intern?

  • Support team in expense/revenue budgeting
  • Uploading and troubleshooting Adaptive (budgeting system)
  • Developing departmental budget reviews
  • Analyzing Expenses (including variance analysis and trend analysis)
  • Reporting the Income Statement, including revenues, expenses, and the Balance Sheet
  • Developing and maintaining process documentation

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Current student status (4th or 5th year)
  • Availability to work 25-30 hours per week
  • Accounting/Finance/Economics background
  • Fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Keen interest in developing a career in financial services
  • Strong Excel skills, with ability to manipulate data
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of MS Access, and MS Power BI would be a plus
