Risk and Compliance AI & Analytics team brings together risk and compliance data scientists whose focus is on leveraging advanced data analytics, risk model validation, implementing automation technologies, delivering comprehensive management information as well as exploring and implementing the transformative AI solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Risk Model Validator to join our Risk and Compliance AI & Analytics Team. The Risk Model Validator will focus on validation of market and credit risk models, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and reliable performance. The role will also evolve to include models powered by AI and advanced techniques.

You will be based in Krakow. We work closely with Market Makers, dealers, custodian, IT and Corporate Action teams based in London, Bangalore and Singapore.

What you’ll do

• Assess the performance and validity of risk models to ensure they accurately represent the variables, markets, or risks under consideration
• Working closely with models’ developers to improve code quality
• Design and implement a set of tests to detect the limitation and misbehaviors of the models
• Learn various approaches to Stress-Testing, Sensitivity Analysis, VaR & Expected Shortfall used across the industry and compare them with the models implemented at IG
• Critically read and understand a codebase of over 60k lines of code used to manage credit, market and capital risk.
• Creating model validation reports
• Working closely with Financial Risk team located in London
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize AI model performance and ensure alignment with business goals
• Actively sharing knowledge with other team members

What you’ll need for this role

• Fluent oral and written English language skills
• 5+ years’ experience in model risk management in banking or financial services
• Strong knowledge of Model Validation techniques & regulatory standards covering risk models (i.e. Stress testing / VaR / Capital & liquidity models)
• Knowledge & practical experience in Python / SQL / MongoDB / GitLab
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, willing to embrace new tools and methodologies as needed, particularly in AI and machine learning
• Proven capability to mentor junior team members, promote skill development, and ensure continuous learning within the team

Desirable:

• Knowledge of AI models validation techniques
• Proven leadership experience
