About the Role
The Closing Office sits in the Finance Risks & Controls department. Our missions include ensuring that the financial closing processes are optimally handled for all entities of the Euroclear group, within the Finance Service Centre (FSC).
We are now looking for a new colleague to join us, who will be focusing on the monthly Closing activities and also on the ad-hoc Resolution Closing process (i.e. BRRD EU regulation).
More specifically, your will be mainly in charge of:
- Monthly review and certification of balance sheet reconciliations of the Euroclear group (in Blackline).
- Describing the accounts in Blackline and ensuring the reconciliations backups are accurately defined in the tool.
- Mapping the accounts to the control framework to ease the audit of the controls.
- Harmonizing Balance Sheet reconciliation principles and procedures through the group and establish a procedure to onboard new entities.
- Facilitating the Financial Closing.
- Ensuring the Closing Processes are smooth and effective.
- Coordinating and supporting internal and external audit discussions and requests.
- Performing sophisticated/ad-hoc Financial support that requires out of the box thinking.
- Identifying gaps and potential recommendations to mitigate. Formulating recommendations with business & challenging business if there is lack of consensus on necessity to close gaps.
- Preparing and coordinating execution of ad-hoc Resolution closing.
- Ensuring the Ad-Hoc Closing Processes are smooth and effective.
- Defining, documenting & supervising remediation of issues or improvements for the ad-hoc Resolution closing.
You have
- Confirmed experience in Audit or in Accounting within Financial Services.
- A broad knowledge of accounting and a confirmed understanding of IFRS; BE GAAP is a plus.
- A first experience with Resolution and BRRD concepts;
- Knowledge in ERP systems; Oracle eBS is an asset.
- Good knowledge of Balance Sheet reconciliations; use of Blackline is a plus.
- A Risk critical attitude in day to day work - you challenge assumptions or conclusions derived by the business.
- You can work autonomously as well as in a team.
- You are proficient in English (writing & speaking).
- IT-literate (Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI).
About the team
The Financial Division plays a central and transversal role at Euroclear, composed of 220+ employees across activities structured in six departments:
- CFO Office: Performance Management, Corporate Finance, Emerging businesses, Insurance, Pensions funds
- Facilities & Central Services: Offices and data centres facilities management and maintenance, real estate strategy, physical security, hospitality and employee experience, employees mobility
- Supply Chain: Suppliers sourcing strategy, negotiation, contracts, service delivery and performance, review & assessment of Outsourcing and Critical Service Providers (OSP &CSP)
- Group Accounting services (GAS): End-to-End accounting cycle: Purchase orders, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Interco, General Ledger, Consolidation, Accounting procedures & processes
- Financial Data Reporting and Analytics (FIDRA): Accounting policies regulatory reporting, Finance Business Intelligence, Budgeting and Forecasting, Management reporting
- Finance Transversal Projects & Controls: Finance assistants, Finance risks & controls assurance, Closing Office, Master Data, Project office and Employee engagement
