This strategic initiative is created to enable the change of Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) to a data-driven company. Our goal is to empower all VWFS business units to use data effectively, efficiently and compliantly in their business decisions.

D&A originally has been set up as central HQ function located in Germany. To strengthen D&A’s international profile and to cope with the increasing demand for D&A’s services, the European D&A Hub has recently been established in Warsaw, Poland. The teams in both locations work closely aligned to deliver outstanding data products and services for international data use cases at VWFS group.

Data Governance & Quality — About:

Our major activities in the area of Data Quality & Data Governance are:

• Our aim is to help to achieve reliable, high-quality data by defining concepts, standards and processes as well as expert knowledge and providing tools. 
• We enable several business departments to use data from various markets for numerous purposes
• We define DG and DQ standards and contribute to improving the speed of insights and business decisions 
• We create transparency about the current data quality through DQ problem management and reporting for various stakeholders and support all relevant stakeholders with the exchange of expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting and improving the overarching framework for adequate Data Governance by designing and implementing adequate DG processes, roles and methods together with relevant stakeholders
• Creating awareness for Data Governance and providing trainings
• Communicating and coordination with all relevant stakeholders in Headquarters and the European markets of VW FS, to support them with their local Data Governance including metadata management
• Supporting the development and establishment of overarching processes and Data Governance including the implementation of Data Governance tools (e.g. Collibra) together with relevant markets
• Making the majority of Data Governance implementation transparent and comparable by defining and implementing adequate KPIs
• Analyzing of existing data flows and the underlying business process
• Identification of needs for action and autonomous development of solutions
• Evaluating and adapting regulatory requirements about risk data aggregation and risk reporting (e.g. BCBS 239, MaRisk etc.) and update existing frameworks

You are a perfect candidate if you:

• Successful graduation of studying economics, business administration or business informatics, (business) mathematics or a comparable field of study; alternatively: completion of a business or technical apprenticeship with appropriate further training
• Strong communication skills in discussions with different stakeholders and excellent English skills (C1 level) both written and spoken as well as ability to manage complex approaches and results-oriented way of working 
• Very good Polish language skills (B2+ level)
• Analytic and agile mindset with an affinity for data, precise and structured way of working, solid knowledge of data management and a high customer orientation. Encouraging change processes and transparency.
• 5+ years of professional experience regarding Data Governance roles, responsibilities and processes, as well as of financial services departments (e.g. Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting), know-how of regulatory aspects (e.g. BCBS 239)
