We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Data Management & Quantitative Analysis Manager to join our BNY.

Title in the contract: Senior Vice President, Data Management & Quantitative Analysis Manager. This role is in Wroclaw (HYBRID).

Team & Function: 

The Capabilities & Data Design (C&DD) Team sits within Risk & Compliance Strategy Planning. The team’s focus is to centralize Compliance data by building out an innovative platform that provides BNY Mellon’s leadership with actionable intelligence. 

C&DD’s largest collaborator is Financial Crimes Compliance who is responsible for the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Sanctions Compliance Programs. 

C&DD is excited about the work we’re doing and we’re seeking a candidate who is looking for a purpose-driven role.  

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Elicit and document requirements from Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) stakeholders accountable for processes related to Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) regulations e.g., Know Your Client (KYC), Transaction Monitoring, Investigations, and Sanctions
  • Assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
  • Establish partnerships with data owners to obtain data and understand data limitations i.e., scope of data, attribute definitions, linkages to other datasets
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to communicate requirements and test Engineering-produced solutions
  • Serve as leader-coach to junior members of the team including the potential for supervisory and leadership activities

To be successful in this role, we are seeking a candidate with the following required qualifications:

  • Advanced SQL data querying and profiling abilities within the financial services industry
  • Ability to analyze aggregated and row-level data to understand business transactions and underlying processes
  • Occasional ability to work evenings as senior stakeholders are mostly based out of New York City or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience,
  • Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance, or economics preferred
  • 10+ years of total, relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly capable at interrogating new and fast changing datasets with SQL
  • Competency with data querying, transformation, and dashboarding tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, etc.
  • Competency with data governance tools (Collibra, IDQ)
  • Experience with issue management systems (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
  • Program management skill preferred, including Agile project management
  • Familiar with logical data models
  • Experience using reference data and mastered data

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS)
