QA Developer

As a QA Developer in our Core Technology function you will be performing a critical role in ensuring the quality of back-end trading systems.

You’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle. Utilizing your critical thinking skills to elaborate and implement test scenarios for new features. Combining these talents with a strong software engineering skills to develop and maintain automation test frameworks and pipelines to ensure we are delivering quality software quickly.

Your role in the Team

As an experienced QA, you’ll work as one of our Core Dealing teams developing our back-end trading systems. These low latency order and risk management systems are key to enabling our business to offer a best-in-class trading experience to our clients. From day one you will be testing high-volume, high-performance services where reliability and accuracy are paramount.

You’ll play a key role in this by working with developers to ensure quality feature delivery. You’ll utilize your strong engineering skills to build and maintain automation testing frameworks for our applications to enable efficient, repeatable testing. You will also employ your strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to understand and challenge business requirements and come up with test scenarios to rigorously assert them.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with the team to analyse and refine business requirements
• Drive elaboration and specification of test scenarios required to assert the validity of solutions
• Develop and maintain automation test frameworks for our applications to support efficient, reliable testing of features
• Perform manual testing where required (with a critical mind and view towards automating away manual tasks going forward)
• Performance testing applications to ensure they meet non-functional requirements
• Engaging with stakeholders to demo solutions

What you’ll need for this role

• 3+ years of QA experience (automation and manual)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional, multi-location teams. Communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge and experience in agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban), testing methodologies, testing principles, and testing best practices
• Strong Java skills and familiarity with Java testing frameworks such as Cucumber and Junit
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Knowledge of communication protocols: HTTP (REST, JSON/XML), AMQ, Kafka, JMS
