Smith+Nephew is hiring a Finance Business Partner, Global Commercial Operations.
As a Finance Business Partner, you will directly collaborate with Global Commercial Operations (GCO), including Sales Training, Medical Education, Market Access, and Digital Marketing teams. Your role is pivotal in providing accurate reporting, meaningful data analysis, and strategic financial support to GCO leadership. This is your chance to shape financial strategy while driving operational excellence in a global environment.
What will you be doing?
- Provide strategic business partnerships to GCO teams, offering financial analysis, expense management, and proactive guidance.
- Lead period-end reporting and analysis, forecasting, and budgeting cycles, ensuring variances are explained and opportunities/risks identified.
- Manage month-end processes, including journal entries, cost center support, cross-charges, accruals, and executive reporting/presentations.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and financial support, including modeling, dashboards, and variance reviews.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure SOX compliance, adhering to high standards of ethics and company policies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and enhance financial operations.
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in finance with increasing responsibility, ideally within the healthcare or medical devices sector.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; SAP, Business Objects, and HFM experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a business-partnering mindset.
