YOUR ROLE

Financial Services Cloud practice for many years has been providing digital solutions for our clients and building scalable, secure and experience-oriented systems. We transform applications into more modern approach, like microservices and introduce green field ideas by choosing best technology and architectural stack. We cooperate with European banks and financial institutions. Our clients come from national and commercial sector. Hundreds of our employees explore broad financial world creating new payment solutions, trading platforms, systems for financial risk calculations or banknote transport optimization. We also have the opportunity to implement innovative Big Data platforms and blockchain technology.

We are involved in every stage of software development, so we maintain high software development standards and good practices. We use Agile methodology (Kanban, Scrum and SAFe) and Cloud-based technologies (like AWS, Azure and GCP). We code a lot in Java and .NET and use DevOps tools to deliver automated environments, but you could also try JavaScript or get to know Kotlin in our projects.

YOUR TASKS

  • Designing and developing applications in technology stack: Java, Spring, Spark, Python
  • Leveraging AWS environment for seamless scalability, cost reduction and disaster recovery, e.g.: AWS Lambda, EMR, SNS/SQS, S3, Cloud Watch, EventBridge, EC2, API Gateway
  • Deploy microservices to OpenShift platform
  • Focusing on the quality standards – e.g., by using TDD/BDD, delivering good unit test coverage, using Design Patterns, documenting the code and designs, clean code practices.
  • Maintenance of existing system at various stages of development, understood as ownership over platform health assurance and vulnerability prevention.
  • Implementing infrastructure as a code.
  • Ownership over platform release preparation, documentation and supporting handover to Quality Engineers and System Reliability Engineers
  • Consulting integration and acceptance tests with Product Owners and implementing them using Cucumber Framework
  • Cooperating with the Product Owners, Platform Lead, Scrum Master and the development team to assure that client’s needs are covered.
  • Working closely with the client (POs, QEs, SREs, Platform Lead) on building feature requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Opportunity to take part in out-of-project activities – for e.g., supporting our recruitment processes as an interviewer, taking part in department initiatives. 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Java development
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS solutions – good understanding of managed services, serverless, security and shared responsibility model. Knowledge of at least 4 of: AWS Lambda, EMR, SNS/SQS, S3, Cloud Watch, EventBridge, EC2, API Gateway
  • Experience in designing, development and deployment of features in microservices or modular monolith architecture.
  • Experience in building batch systems or asynchronous applications integrated with message brokers
  • Minimum good level of knowledge about databases (SQL preferable, NoSQL acceptable).
  • Significant experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security and Spring Data frameworks.
  • Knowledge about automation and CI/CD tools (Jenkins or similar).  
  • Minimum basic skills in Python
  • Ability to write clean code in accordance with modern programming standards (BDD, TDD approach, code reviews, unit testing). 
  • Fluent English.
  • Attitude to learn new skills and technologies
  • Very good communication skills and a strong team-player approach.
  • Willingness to work directly with the client and in an international environment. 
  • Experience in at least one of technologies - Spark or other similar distributed computing engine to support data processing, Terraform, Kafka, OpenShift and scale microservices.
