Are you passionate about financial compliance and excellence? Would you like to ensure Lufthansa Group companies in activities connected to statutory closing, calculation of balance sheets, audits, changes in accounting standards and principles?

We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Statutory Closing Manager.

In this role, you'll:

  • Oversee the effective delivery of services by our Bundled Solutions Tower (P2P /OTC /Intercompany/ Taxes/ Treasury/ Fixed Assets/ Closing areas)
  • Take responsibility for projects and identify areas where innovations are needed to improve financial processes
  • Manage, develop and shape the future of the Bundled Solutions team

Responsibilities:

Team & People Management:

  • Managing assigned team to ensure continuous improvement of team’s performance and conducting regular analysis of achievement of team targets regarding timeliness, quality and efficiency.
  • Development of Team Members, their knowledge in Finance area and soft skills
  • Defines performance goals for team members and supervising their realization with strong focus on YEC
  • Creating Team Spirit based on Ambition, Respect and Sustainability

Business Communication Management

  • Serving as a key contact for auditors and central accounting/tax/treasury departments
  • Building positive relationships with various stakeholders from Financial Services
  • Preparation and/or presentation of reports/data summary for various stakeholders within Lufthansa Group

Process Management

  • Advising business units on statutory closing regulations for daily operations and projects.
  • Developing recommendations on asset capitalization and provisions/accruals formation.
  • Evaluating balance sheet-related business issues.
  • Assessing the impact of new accounting standards on the balance sheet and P&L.
  • Preparing accounting information for group-wide consolidated statements.

Project Management

  • Participating in LH Group-wide accounting projects and ERP platform implementation
  • Leading own projects in the financial area

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience in SSC BPO service delivery environment PTP/RTR/OTC/HRS/PROCU required (pref.3 years, diversified service)
  • Experience in leading 10+ employees (min. 3 year)
  • BA in business administration with focus on financial accounting or finance, tax
  • ACCA studies will be an asset
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in finance and accounting
  • Familiar with accounting rules according to German HGB
  • Has worked with SAP FI and ideally also with CO, MM and SAP BW-BCS
  • Very good command of all Ms Office (MS Excel on a high level)
  • Good command of English
  • Good command of German (will be an asset)

  • Diligent, independent and systematic approach to work
